The tables we were seated at smelt of wet towels. We suspect the cloth they used to wipe the table was a bit old.
Overall, we thought that the food was okay. Really great Vietnamese dishes that is hard to find in Melbourne. But the flavours were slightly off for a couple dishes.
Not bad, it just wasn't good or how you would expect it in Vietnam.
I don't blame them, it's hard to replicate traditional flavours.
They have plenty of great reviews though, so I'm keen to try again and hope I come on a good day!
Friendly and prompt service. Satay snails, pork chop on rice and grilled chicken on vermicelli was made to perfection. We just couldn’t finish our food because we had a late lunch but we didn’t want to wait in line so decided to have an early dinner. Will definitely be back!
Frequent customer of the shop. It is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Melbourne. The owner is nice, staff are also really attentive and friendly. Service is good and quick. It gets crowded sometimes around peak time, so try avoiding those time for easy parking and finding table. There is no reservations I believe.
Knocking noodles, New Zealand snails with coconut dream sauce + bread is a must try. The noodle soup should probably be the best soup around Footscray. Chicken and pork grill dishes are also great dishes too.
My partner and I went to Melbourne last month and I pinned this place as a must visit restau when I saw the reels online. I was so excited to try their snails and other Vietnamese food. We're from GC and I find that there's really no restaurant offering this kind of food here. I've ordered the NZ sea snails and Tasmanian cockles grilled with peanuts and shallots oil. The sea snails are chewy but yet delicious. The tamarind sauce is so nice and you can eat it with the fried bread. The cockles is so tasty and it has crispy crackling in it and it is very tasty. The platter on the first picture is the beef bo la lot. The beef is warpped in betel leaf and then grilled. I also ordered a jackfruit smoothie and it was refreshing. They also have free tea on each table. I've been to Vietnam so many moons ago and the only thing I wish this restaurant would have is the authentic punch of the sauce. I find that the sauce is too sweet and lack the proper taste of it but I can understand they have tapered this for the Aussie tastebuds. I would love to eat here again when we visit Melbourne again! They are located in footscrey! I highly recommend 👌
Looking for a satisfying meal that won't break the bank? Look no further than this fast-food Asian-style restaurant! While the service may not be the warmest, it's efficient and will get you seated, fed, and out the door in no time. Don't worry though, you won't feel rushed.
The ambiance may not be memorable, but it's clean and bustling with activity during peak dining times. But let's talk about the real star of the show: the food. Trust us when we say that the shellfish is a must-try, especially the sea snails. We ordered them in the delicious tamarind sauce and paired them with Chinese doughnuts for the ultimate flavor explosion.
But that's not all. The noodles with fresh-made meatballs are also a standout dish. The crunchy egg noodles perfectly complement the flavorful meatballs, making it a close contender for our favorite dish of the night.
And if you're feeling extra hungry, don't miss out on the quail. It was marinated to perfection and crispy on the outside, yet still moist on the inside. Overall, we'd give the food a solid 9/10. So if you're looking for a delicious and affordable meal, this place definitely hits the spot.
ordered two snail dishes and bread. Well, first things first, the bread was cold; isn't it supposed to be hot? Or does the customer need to heat it up in the oven by themselves if they ordered via app (then pls state it)? Second, some of the snails are still a bit slimy. Tamarind sauce uses too much cornflour and not flavourful enough. The taste is sadly far below what I had in Vietnam :(
Hmmm probably try their noodles next time then..
A hidden restaurant in Footscray. Great food. We ordered grilled quail, clams in XO sauce with fried doughnuts, signature noodle soup and sour plum juice. All of them taste good and we are very satisfied with our meal.
Fantastic flavour with generous portion. My favourite is pork and prawn dried noodle. The staff is friendly and helpful too!
